FIFA-2006:Where is INDIA???????
Whenever i watched football world cup these days, every time a single thought came to my mind…
Why not INDIA? A country, which will be in coming years, would be the world’s most populated city. Kan't we even we manage to find out just eleven to go their and play for our country.
You will found countries having population less than Indias biggies metro and they are giving tough competition to all.
I really feel very pity and sad about this. Here we only know about CRICKET and only CRICKET when it comes to sport.
And even in that we are not doing so much as compared to others.
Who is responsible for this????? Obviously our so called Government.
So what should be the process to go about and bring India to every front .
As per my opinion: First of all government should provide some coverage and assurance to players. This should be done to ensure that players then don’t have to worry about their family, for their job, their only job should be to play- to play and -to play.
And I think as far as Indians are concerned, we are famous in the world for our dedication towards the work.
Even if they(OUR GOVERNMENT) decide today ,I am sure we will be there in next world cup, and believe me this is not a very highly ambitious thinking.
It kan be done, but for this it has to be started.
But who will gonna take care of this, because our ministers are busy in securing their future, making money and money and money…..The damn money.
Well this is not just another blog to read and write comments ….
please do give it a thought……and do something at your level if you kan…………..
May be the next world cup will be OUR’s…………………..
Some people will really find this blog really very crazy but this is as simple as it kan be .And practically it is damn possible

my point exactly .. .even i was wondering why we dont have india's presence in the world cup tho football matches are played in almost every school , college and locality ....
and the govt is to blame ... but so is our attitude .. we hardly try to strive .. we just wait for things to happen .. we take the easy way out
I don’t agree with you on this, your point is highly pessimist.
Do you know why Indians are not able to achieve even when they have got capability to do what is in there mind ?
The primary reason is : Our government don’t provide them the security for their future.
And how kan you expect someone to outshine others when their mind is not fixed at the target.
So I don’t think its our fault that we are not able to make it to last 32 but our fault is that, we are not even trying to do what se kan do at our level.

and the other thing that u said (abt the target) is again what i said .. abt our lack of determination ... we always take the easy way out ... hence no determination or aim .. yes , there are a few ppl who have their priorities in place , and their target and determination is visible , but then the Govt screws them up .....
but , why criticise only the govt ? we should be able to change it !

It is just the lack of awareness that i feel less number of ppl play football but i am sure this world cup has created a lot of awareness. Parents would now happily send their children for football coaching the way they do 4 cricket!!
Lets b +ve and hope india makes it to the world cup in the coming 10 yrs

Tell me wat to do in these conditions. We are blaming governmebt because they dont know their responsibility. If government is not stopping the people from playing the football then wat they are doing towards making Team India. NONE.
If u think of 10 years you will rech there in 20 years ....so think for 4 years ,then u will be there in 10 years.
pls we r only discussing abt football i dont understand why u have draged no electricity,bad roads and other things in between??

Hey i am just trying to tell the role of government....If u know about the goverement then u must be aware of sports ministery kinda thing....if we are not there(WC) then it means its not only that we are not aware...we are aware but awareness has to be supported by governments assurance of a secure bright future in the sport(here football).
Cant wait for the time when I can cheer like crazy for India..

The update is that --
I read in the newspaper yesterday that indian government is hiring a coach for football association and also inviting the indian origin players who are playing for different clubs to join the academy and train the players here.
So i am very happy about this initiative taken by the government.But this should be implemented with sincerity and honesty otherwise there is no point in investing the huge amount of money. So all keep your fingers crossed for this start.
